The power of 16 trees in just 1 year of technology

Ensuring a cleaner, healthier future for the next generations starts with the choices we make today, at home and in our communities. When food waste goes into the regular trash, it spoils very quickly and harms the quality of the air our families breathe. With Reatto technology, we treat these food scraps right where they are generated. In just 1 year, our unit avoids the same amount of pollution that 16 Atlantic Forest trees would take 20 years to remove from the air.

We all want to leave a well-cared-for planet to our children and grandchildren, but have you ever stopped to think about the path food takes after it leaves the table?

When we throw food scraps into the regular trash, they end up in landfills and spoil quickly. This fast decomposition produces an invisible, highly polluting gas that directly affects the environment we live in. To prevent this problem, the Reatto unit steps in with a simple, definitive solution: treating waste at the source.

  How does the treatment work?

Instead of piling up dirt and attracting insects, the unit fully treats food waste on site (restaurant, condominium, or company). It turns that heavy volume of food scraps into a clean, dry, odor-free, and completely safe material. By treating waste right away:

  • It prevents waste buildup and bad odor in the premises.
  • It avoids unnecessary garbage truck trips across the city.
  • It prevents polluting gases from forming in the landfill.

Why does treating waste at the source change the game?

When we treat waste right where it is generated, we eliminate the formation of these gases before they can even exist. Organic matter stops being an environmental threat in landfills and can return to the soil as a nutrient.

Changing the future of the planet and of future generations does not require complex solutions, but smart choices and technology applied in the right place. Treatment at the source proves it is possible to turn an invisible problem into a real positive impact, one kilogram of waste at a time.
